Warehouse Helper

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team at Tom’s Carpet & Flooring—Chattanooga’s most trusted name in flooring. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to inventory management, shipping, and receiving. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate various warehouse equipment. Responsibilities • Assist with inventory control by accurately tracking stock levels and conducting regular audits, all done within our in-store software. • Fabricate or assemble products as needed to meet shipping requirements. • Participate in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency within the warehouse. • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflows and resolve any operational issues. • Load and unload flooring materials by hand or with a forklift (training available). • Occasionally assist walk-in customers and answer basic phone calls. • Work closely with sales and install teams for daily pickups/deliveries. • Help retail customers with pickup orders and basic in-store service. Qualifications • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred. • Reliable and punctual. • Positive attitude and team-first mindset. • Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues. • Ability to operate forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training available). • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate inventory management. • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed.
