Job Summary of Store Associate: This role supports the overall appearance and operation of the store through merchandise replenishment, product organization, cashiering, and cleaning. Store Associate work together to maintain an efficient shopping environment while providing friendly and responsive service to customers. Responsibilities of Store Associate: • Required to conduct tasks with or without reasonable adaptations. • Abides by customer service principles and refers any concerns to store management if needed • Alerts management to the impact of obsolete or damaged goods on the store's revenue. • Utilizes the point-of-sale (POS) system appropriately to precisely scan and complete customer transactions and communicates any scanning discrepancies or errors to store management. • Follows guidelines and protocols related to handling cash. • Maintains compliance with the queuing guidelines and activates supplementary register lanes as needed to promote a streamlined checkout experience. • Ensures shelves and displays are stocked and arranged neatly as per merchandising planograms to drive sales effectiveness. • Carry out curbside pickup requests by precisely gathering items within the store, confirming the order's accuracy, and ensuring the timely delivery to customers' vehicles waiting in the staging area. • Maintains adherence to zone standards and merchandising protocols continuously • Works with store leadership to optimize operational effectiveness. • Assists in the accomplishment of total loss targets for the store. • Conforms to all the accepted standards and procedures set by the company. • Helping store management in creating a secure work environment comprises identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining the functionality of equipment. • Ensures adherence to inventory procedures and guidelines for the handling of products. • Performs routine cleaning duties to ensure compliance with company cleanliness standards. Physical Demands: • Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another. • The position entails the lifting, relocating, and placing of products with a weight of up to 45 pounds onto shelves situated at diverse heights, encompassing those above chest level. • It is necessary to be proficient in handling equipment like a cash register, electric and manual pallet trucks, floor scrubber, and baler for cardboard. • Keeping products at various temperatures is essential, such as in freezers and coolers. • Glass and versatile cleaning solutions are essential for the task at hand. Qualifications of Store Associate: • Competence in delivering timely and gracious customer assistance. • Ability to operate various store tools like cash registers, floor scrubbers, balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers. • Ability to comprehend and adhere to ALDI operational policies and procedures proficiently. • Ability to proficiently express thoughts through both verbal and written communication. • Competence in executing rudimentary mathematical tasks such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. • Aptness in adhering to guidelines accurately and paying close attention to detail. • Capable of performing tasks both independently and in a group. • Ability to manage, prioritize, and accomplish assigned tasks effectively within established time frames to maximize productivity. • Demonstrating a commitment to reliable and prompt attendance. • Satisfying the outlined availability conditions. Education and Experience: • You must be at least 18 years of age to qualify. • It is desirable to have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification. • Experience working in retail is preferred.
