Job Description

Foundry 8:1:3 is seeking an exceptional Special Education/ABA Head Teacher to join our highly specialized educational program in Manhattan serving students with autism and related learning needs.

This is not a traditional special education classroom.

Our program is designed for students who require highly individualized, evidence-based instruction to build academic fluency, executive functioning, independence, self-regulation, social communication, and readiness for less restrictive environments. Many of our students are cognitively capable learners whose needs are often overlooked in traditional settings due to challenges with classroom participation, academic stamina, self-management, flexible thinking, and skill generalization.

We are seeking educators who deeply understand how students on the spectrum learn and who are passionate about systematic, explicit, and data-driven teaching.

The ideal candidate is a certified Special Education Teacher with strong experience working with students with autism in an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) school or educational programs using the principles of ABA. Experience implementing Direct Instruction (DI) curriculum and Orton-Gillingham (OG) reading methodologies is highly preferred, but not required.

This position is ideal for educators who value instructional rigor, collaboration, student growth, and meaningful long-term outcomes for children. It is also an excellent opportunity for individuals currently enrolled in a master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and/or those who have completed their coursework and are seeking supervised fieldwork experiences to further develop and expand their behavior analytic skills within an educational setting.
