Job Description

Our team supports complex Navy acquisition programs by applying technical expertise, analytical rigor, and innovative approaches to improve program outcomes.

Pantheon is seeking a Program Analyst / Data Analyst to support U.S. Navy program offices across contract and financial management. Work includes recurring reporting, focused analysis, program reviews, and improving the tools and processes behind that work.

Strong candidates can frame useful questions, work through incomplete or conflicting information, test assumptions, and explain what the evidence supports. The role works with acquisition and budget and financial management teams; specialized Navy systems knowledge can be learned.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze contract status, funding, expenditures, burn rates, estimates at completion, and the cost or schedule implications of program changes.
  • Assess financial plans and execution; track and reconcile commitments, obligations, and expenditures; identify variances and advise on potential corrective actions.
  • Combine information from multiple sources, validate figures and definitions, and build or improve dashboards, reports, and repeatable analytical workflows.
  • Support acquisition and budget materials, forecasts, program reviews, and data calls with clear analysis and defensible estimates.
  • Brief clients and internal teams on findings and risks, and work with subject matter experts to investigate discrepancies and understand program context.

Qualifications

  • Strong quantitative reasoning and critical thinking, including the ability to evaluate data quality and reach supportable conclusions.
  • Applied experience analyzing data and communicating results; proficiency with Excel and experience with Power BI or a comparable business intelligence tool.
  • Clear writing and communication, sound organization, and the ability to learn new systems and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred experience

  • DoD or Navy acquisition, contract structures, financial management, or systems such as Navy ERP, PBIS, and NEPS.
  • SQL, Python, or similar tools for data preparation, validation, or automation.
