MEDICAL ASSISTANT - Dermatology & Surgery Center
Full-Time | Chevy Chase, MD | Monday-Friday | No Evenings or Weekends
Well-established dermatology office and surgery center is seeking an experienced and professional Medical Assistant who is eager to build a LONG-TERM career with opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and advancement. You will work alongside multiple dermatology providers while developing hands-on skills, learn assessments and treatment plans, and help deliver exceptional patient care in a collaborative team environment. No front desk or billing duties! This role offers a clear path toward a Senior Medical Assistant position within our growing practice.
DUTIES
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, minor surgeries and cosmetic appointments
- Obtain and update medical histories and vital signs
- Pre-chart prior to daily appointments
- Document patient encounters, scribe visits, and complete EMR documentation
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Administer medications as directed by providers
- Educate patients and assist with triage
- Coordinate patient flow while anticipating provider needs
- Process laboratory specimens and diagnostic results
- Send electronic prescriptions and letters
- Complete clinical logs and other administrative responsibilities
- Opportunity for growth into a Senior position, which may include management duties, training/overseeing staff, and improving overall practices
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Direct clinical MA experience (2+ years REQUIRED)
- EMR and medical scribing experienced (2+ years REQUIRED)
- Dermatology, cosmetic, or surgical experience a plus
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Able to multitask and be a flexible team member
- Interest in a LONG-TERM career growth
Recent College Graduates
We are willing to also consider new/recent college graduates interested in gaining meaningful, hands-on clinical experience and mentorship before pursuing medical school, PA school, nursing, or other healthcare careers as part of our Student MA Intern Fellowship Program. Opportunities to assist with clinical research possible. A minimum commitment of 24 months of full-time employment is FIRMLY REQUIRED for new/recent graduates to be considered.
