This individual will manage end-to-end review workflows, ensuring product information and packaging materials are accurate, compliant, and approved on schedule across multiple product categories.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and approval of product specifications, packaging artwork, and food-labeling content for assigned products and categories.
  • Assess Nutrition Facts panels, ingredient lists, allergen disclosures, nutrient-content claims, and other required label components for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Compare packaging proofs and keylines against approved specifications and applicable labeling requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies and compliance risks; document required revisions and provide clear, actionable feedback to stakeholders and supplier partners.
  • Coordinate open issues, artwork updates, approvals, and release milestones across concurrent projects.
  • Apply sound judgment to resolve routine compliance questions and escalate complex or ambiguous matters as appropriate.
  • Maintain complete project records, including review status, decisions, outstanding actions, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to support accurate, timely packaging releases.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience reviewing and approving product specifications and labels for packaged food products.
  • Working knowledge of FDA food-labeling requirements, including Nutrition Facts, ingredients, allergen declarations, nutrient-content claims, and mandatory label elements.
  • Ability to independently identify labeling issues, determine corrective actions, and document approval decisions.
  • Experience supporting food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, retail food, or related regulated product environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple labeling, packaging, or specification-review projects within tight timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate regulatory findings into actionable guidance.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, SharePoint, and business systems used to track reviews, approvals, and outstanding work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with USDA-regulated food labeling.
  • Experience supporting private-label products or supplier approval processes.
  • Familiarity with PLM, specification-management, or label-approval platforms.
  • Experience managing labeling changes, supplier corrections, and regulatory approval workflows.
  • Background in high-volume food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or retail environments.

What Makes a Great Candidate

The ideal candidate combines practical food-labeling regulatory expertise with exceptional organization and attention to detail. They can evaluate technical requirements independently, manage a high volume of concurrent reviews, and communicate clear direction that helps partners resolve issues quickly and confidently.
