Commercial Electrical Foreman
Juice Electric - Jacksonville, FL
Full-Time | Commercial Projects Throughout Florida
Pay: From $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
About the Position
Juice Electric is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman to lead crews on commercial construction and retail buildout projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows the trade, understands drawings, pays attention to details, and can confidently direct a crew. You will delegate tasks, answer field questions, verify installation quality, and make sure employees have the materials, tools, and information needed to work efficiently.
The office supplies the project schedule, deadlines, and milestones. The Foreman is responsible for organizing and executing the field work to keep the project on schedule.
This position reports to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and delegate. Assign clear tasks based on each employee’s abilities, explain expectations, answer technical questions, and verify that work is completed correctly.
- Read and understand drawings. Interpret electrical plans, specifications, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, details, and revisions. Coordinate with architectural and mechanical drawings where they affect electrical installations.
- Execute the office-issued schedule. Translate project deadlines into daily crew assignments and priorities. Monitor progress throughout the day and adjust work sequencing within approved scope to meet milestones.
- Address delays early. Promptly report material shortages, drawing conflicts, staffing needs, access restrictions, and other obstacles to the General Manager. Explain the schedule impact and recommend practical solutions.
- Respect schedule authority. Do not independently change project milestones or make schedule commitments to the general contractor or other trades without office approval.
- Plan materials and equipment ahead. Review upcoming work, verify available inventory, and submit accurate material requests before shortages interrupt production.
- Follow office-controlled purchasing. The office handles purchasing, payment, and pickup coordination. Do not make unauthorized purchases or charges on company accounts.
- Maintain jobsite leadership. Remain available to direct the crew and resolve field questions. Coordinate necessary off-site duties with management and prevent avoidable mid-day material runs through advance planning.
- Perform skilled electrical work. Lead by example in layout, conduit bending and installation, conductor installation, equipment terminations, testing, and troubleshooting within your qualifications and authorization.
- Verify quality and code compliance. Check work against current drawings, specifications, approved changes, and applicable electrical codes. Identify and correct deficiencies before concealment or inspection.
- Identify extra work. Report scope changes, conflicting instructions, and requests for additional work before committing company labor or materials.
- Communicate accurately. Provide clear daily updates on completed work, crew assignments, material needs, inspections, delays, and decisions needed from the office.
- Use company technology. Access digital drawings, review schedules, and use designated communication, timekeeping, and documentation applications.
- Maintain safe, organized jobsites. Enforce safety requirements, protect customer property, and keep work areas, tools, and materials orderly. Schedule pressure never overrides safe work practices.
- Coordinate professionally. Work constructively with the general contractor, inspectors, customers, and other trades.
