Key Responsibilities
•
Lead daily sort, stow, staging, and launch operations while ensuring the team follows established standard work.
•
Direct and coach temporary associates, leads, and other assigned team members throughout the shift.
•
Conduct pre-shift huddles and clearly communicate volume, staffing, safety, productivity, and service expectations.
•
Monitor staffing and labor hours against the daily labor plan and make adjustments based on volume and workload.
•
Track employee productivity and identify performance gaps before they affect overall shift execution.
•
Monitor key operational KPIs: Units/Packages Per Hour (UPH/PPH), On-Time Departure (OTD), Sort-to-Completion performance, Sort-to-Unload performance, labor hours versus plan, package/stow accuracy, route readiness, and service failures and exceptions.
•
Maintain proper dock flow, trailer unloading, package movement, staging, and route readiness.
•
Ensure packages are placed on the correct carts, containers, routes, and staging locations.
•
Complete required safety inspections, operational checklists, and shift documentation.
•
Enforce PPE requirements, safe material-handling practices, pedestrian awareness, equipment safety, and facility rules.
•
Escalate injuries, hazards, operational delays, late freight, staffing shortages, package exceptions, and equipment issues immediately.
•
Assist with problem solving for missing, damaged, misrouted, or exception packages.
•
Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure the building is properly reset and prepared for the next operating shift.
•
Provide clear shift handoffs detailing volume completed, remaining workload, labor usage, safety concerns, and operational risks.
•
Partner with site leadership to execute staffing changes, recovery plans, and operational priorities.
