Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Service Electrician with proven, hands-on experience running service calls. This role requires an independent problem solver who thrives at diagnosing difficult electrical issues, executing clean repairs, and handling custom equipment installations while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Calls & Troubleshooting: Respond to dispatch calls; use meters, tracers, and testing tools to accurately diagnose shorts, overloaded circuits, tripping breakers, and intermittent power issues.
- Repairs: Perform code-compliant electrical repairs safely and efficiently, explaining findings clearly to the customer before beginning work.
- Installations: Complete a wide variety of field installations, including panel upgrades, subpanels, whole-home surge protection, EV chargers, generators, ceiling fans, and dedicated appliance circuits.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate options and pricing professionally to homeowners and business managers; write clear, accurate descriptions of completed work on digital work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven track record in service calls: Must have documented experience with field diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
- 3-4+ years of electrical field experience with a strong focus on residential/light commercial service work.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC standards and local Charlotte/Mecklenburg County codes.
- Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills; professional appearance and attitude.
- Proficiency with testing instruments (multimeters, megohmmeters, circuit tracers).
