Job Summary
We are hiring experienced Electricians for new-construction multifamily high-rise projects in the Tampa Bay area.
Our crews do every phase of the building: site and slab underground, deck work on each floor, unit rough-in, electrical rooms and gear, and trim-out through power-on.
We are looking for electricians who have done this work on real mid-rise or high-rise apartment buildings (not only houses), who read blueprints well, and who work safely and efficiently on a busy site.
We place each electrician on the site and phase that best fits their experience.
Duties
- Underground: Install site and under-slab conduit from the utility transformer to the building and electrical room. Set stub-ups to the gridline layout, install grounding in the footings and prepare runs for inspection before backfill.
- Slab / deck work: Place conduit, deck boxes, stub-ups and sleeves on each floor’s formwork before the pour, including post-tension decks. Stay for the pour to fix any stub-ups or pipes that get knocked out of place.
- Rough-in: Install boxes, conduit and cable in unit walls and ceilings, including block walls, and get the work ready for inspection before drywall.
- Electrical rooms and gear: Set switchgear, meter centers, transformers and panels. Pull and terminate feeders, torque, test and label, and keep the required NEC working clearances.
- Trim-out: Install devices, fixtures and unit panels, plus fire alarm and low-voltage devices. Test the work and close out punch lists.
- Read and work from blueprints, riser diagrams, panel schedules and layout drawings.
- Troubleshoot with multimeters, ohmmeters and other testing equipment, and find and fix faults efficiently.
- Follow NEC code, OSHA and site safety rules during every phase of work, and keep the work area clean and safe.
- Work with the foreman, superintendent and other trades to stay on the floor-by-floor schedule.
- Take part in ongoing training to stay current with code updates and new methods.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician on new-construction multifamily buildings (mid-rise or high-rise). Required.
- Hands-on experience in at least one of these: site/slab underground, deck work (post-tension a plus), or electrical rooms and gear. Please tell us which in your application.
- Blueprint reading. Layout from column gridlines is a plus.
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, meters and testers.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- A journeyman license and OSHA 10 or 30 are a plus.
- A strong commitment to safety on active construction sites.
- Reliable transportation to job sites in the Tampa Bay area.
- Able to work at heights on ladders, scaffolds and lifts, lift heavy materials, and do physically demanding work outdoors, including in Florida summer heat, with or without reasonable accommodation.
This is full-time work on large multifamily high-rise projects in Tampa, with a team that builds from the first conduit in the ground to the day the building gets power.
