We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and professional Cashier to join our café/restaurant team in Washington, DC.
The ideal candidate has previous cashier or restaurant experience, is comfortable using a POS system, provides excellent customer service, and communicates fluently in English.
This is a full-time Monday-Friday position paying $23 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take customer orders accurately
- Operate the POS/cash register system
- Process cash, credit card, and other payments
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer
- Answer customer questions about menu items
- Package and prepare customer orders as needed
- Keep the cashier and customer-service area clean and organized
- Restock front-of-house supplies
- Work effectively with kitchen and café staff
- Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the customer’s visit
Qualifications
- Previous cashier or café/restaurant experience required
- Fluent English communication required
- Experience with a POS/cash register system
- Strong customer-service skills
- Good basic math and cash-handling skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Professional and friendly attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy café/restaurant environment
- Must be available to work Monday-Friday
- Food-service experience preferred
